Davin Lee, Cellist
Korean born cellist Davin Lee has performed as a soloist throughout the world. Highlights include performances of the Beethoven Triple Concerto and Dvorak Cello Concerto with the North Czech Philharmonic in Prague, Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations with the KBS Philharmonic and the KNUA Orchestra in Korea. She also has performed concerts and recitals including the Kumho Young Artist Series, Ogle Arts Center Young Artist Series, and the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
As chamber musician, Ms. Lee has performed with renowned artists, such as Joshua Bell, Alexander Kerr, Eric Kim, and Amit Peled. Additionally, Ms. Lee was a member of Kuttner Quartet and South Dakota Quartet.
As an orchestral player, Ms. Lee was Principal Cellist of the South Dakota Symphony and performed with the National Symphony, the Washington National Opera, and
the Baltimore Symphony as a substitute musician.
As a teacher, Ms. Lee's students have won several competitions, including the NVMTA String Competition, and held principal positions in the AYPO (American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra).
Davin Lee studied at the Korean National University of Arts with Myung-Wha Chung, the winner of Geneva international competition. Ms. Lee continued her Masters Degree with Amit Peled at the Peabody Conservatory, and Artist Diploma at Indiana University with Eric Kim, the formal Principal Cellist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
